Lou threw the necklace at a mirror, hissing and cursing. He threw the mirror at the wall, watching it shatter.

((Okay.))

Pixie went down to the kitchen and sat at the table.

Lou poofed to the graveyard and dug up a grave, grabbing a skeleton out. The skeleton formed a small boy, skinny and covered with bruises, his fiery red hair mussed and dirty. Lou grabbed his arm roughly, maing him squeak. "Shut up!" Lou hissed, smacking him across the face, and poofing them home. Lou tied him up in the cellar, hitting him and cutting hi. With shards of mirror until the boy passed out. "Good boy Jonas.. Good boy.." Lou whispered, untying hi. Nd giving hima bath and tucking him up in bed, stroking his cheek.

Pixie hummed to herself for a few minutes, distracted. She missed her mate intensely and wished she could see him.

Jonas woke up crying and Lou held him close, rocking him. "Shhh... Don't cry.. I got you some food, you hungry?" Jonas nodded, eying the soup and cheese sandwich Lou had set out for him. "You can talk baby boy, it's okay." Jonas smiling slightly before devouring the food. Lou stroked his hair, watching him. "Better?" Jonas smiled for real, and hugged Lou back. "Yes, thank you.." he whispered softly. Lou curled up with Jonas in his arms and they fell asleep.

Pixie ran her hands through her curls, trying to remain collected and rational. Her mind was full of cloaking sigils and summoning amulets.

Lou dressed Jonas and sent hi. Over to Pixie's. The small boy stumbled as he walked, weak from hunger and his arms trembled from holding the huge box up. He finally reached her house and knocked on the door.

Lou smiled, knocking back another glass of wine.

Pixie's eyes were closed as she daydreamed about midnight-blue hair and red eyes but they flew open when she heard the knock at the door. She poofed to the door and opened it, tilting her head when she saw the small child.

Jonas held the box out. "Masterwants you to have it. He says it will show what you want." he whispered, scared the pretty lady would hit him for speaking.

Pixie narrowed her eyes, her lips slightly parted as she scented the air. After a pause, she said "The demon has sent you. I do not wish to receive anything from him, and nor do I wish for him to send any more... minions to my door."

Jonas whimpered "You has to take it! Please miss! He said it was to show you your.." he paused, trying to remember the word. "Mate! He said you could see your mate with this! Please take it! You has to or he'll get the belt out!" Jonas wailed, his eyes filling with tears.

Pixie took the box and it vanished with a flash of purple energy. She nodded once, satisfied, then said "You may tell him that I received the gift... Although, of course, you would do well to hide that I have destroyed it."

Jonas stared at her with wide eyes and ran back home, Lou opened the door and yanked him inside.

Pixie looked faintly disgusted as she shut the door and went upstairs.

Lou smacked Jonas and sent him flying backwards. "I told you not to speak! You disobeyed me!" Jonas started crying, shielding his face.

Pixie laid on the bed and hugged herself, her fingers caressing her shoulders. She told herself that if she kept her eyes shut and tried hard enough, she could daydream like the humans could and maybe everything would hurt a little less. But her brain refused to stop telling her that her soulmate was far, far away.

Lou waved a hand and Jonas disappeared. He sighed, missing Pixie already. He poofed to her room, and hugged her. "I'm sorry.." he whispered into her hair.

Pixie opened one eye, "You," she said sadly, "are not who I expected to see."

Lou sighed, pulling away. "I know." he pulled away sadly. "Look, Pixie, if you want to leave, leave. Go back to your mate. You have a life, I'm sorry I hurt you." he stood up, smiling sadly.

Pixie shook her head "I can never go home."

Lou frowned, sitting back down beside her and pulling her into his lap. "What do you mean toots?"

Pixie slid out of his lap and said "I am... On the run."

Lou raised an eyebrow. "From what? From who?"

Pixie let out a long sigh then said "The King and the entire Garde. And I am fairly certain that many civilians are also keen to hunt down the renegade gallowglass."

Lou frowned, falling silent. "I'm sorry.."
